NRW Car 2.0

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Design work on the NRWCar 1.0. vehicle draft by “DesignStudioNRW” has commenced, along with the evaluation of requirements for a car-sharing vehicle in the form of a small, urban, electronic car.

With ever expanding urbanisation and digitalisation, intermodal mobility solutions will play an increasingly critical role in our means of travel. Owning ones own car will become less important and instead, a variety of vehicles for different situations will be made available to us. Ones car must therefore no longer accommodate as many situations as possible and can instead be designed optimally for use in a specific situation as a sharing-vehicle. The possibility of having vehicles communicate with one another will allow us to  be lead through traffic much more fluidly. Of course, this opens up completely new configuration options which now need to be designed to maximise their potential.

The research project NRWCar 2.0 has been running since May 2016 and will be concluded by April 2017.
